Cambridge
Famous worldwide for its historic universities, its pedestrianised centre gives Cambridge a relaxed ambience, made all the more so by the attractive walks along the ‘Backs’ and the river Cam.
Wander along the lanes and passages, browsing the many independent shops, along with a cosmopolitan range of cafes and restaurants. There is a thriving arts scene, with the Corn Exchange attracting many notable acts, plus an Arts Theatre and several galleries.
For the more adventurous, why not explore Cambridge by bike or boat? Hire a punt if you fancy something different, or a bike if you’re feeling more strenuous, and take a leisurely tour around the city. Some of the university buildings are open to the public, but in Cambridge you’re never far from some amazing architecture.
